Fahs asked female students to grow their armpit hair for extra credits.
What Fahs found was not just men but also women appalled at the notion of body hair. According to Fahs, this type of belief “highlights the invisibility of omnipresent sexism directed toward those who violate practices to ‘maintain’ the female body.”
